Can Or Should The Stalk Be Cut On This Plant ?

I put this plant in the ground each summer and bring it indoors for the winter but it is getting quite large, can I cut the stalk and root them ? It’s a beautiful plant and don’t want to kill it. Thanks

Without the name of the plant or a photo, it's hard to say whether it can be cut. But generally, tall plants can be cut back and rooted successfully.
