Q.Can Obedient Plants Recover After Being Cut When Just Starting To Grow?

Zone 6A | Atalanta added on May 17, 2023 | Answered

I live in a rental, and have obedient plants on the border of my garden that had just started to grow maybe 4-5 inches. The landscaping company hired by the property management seems to have mistaken my obedient plants for weeds, and really went to town on them with the weed whacker, cutting them down to an inch or two above the ground. Is there any chance they might recover?

Typically, they are considered weeds. With this being said, it depends on if these were seedlings, or new growth from established plants. If these were seedlings, then they are probably gone, unfortunately. If they are growing from established clumps, then they will come back.
