Can I water new fig cuttings with liquid fertilizer?

If you are just taking the cuttings, you can apply some rooting hormone but do not fertilize just yet. I would wait until the cuttings have fairly good root system before fertilizing and then only do so at half strength to avoid burning them, as the roots may still be rather tender.
