Q.Can I use vinegar to kill bamboo root in my yard?

I have bamboo shoots growing in my yard. Is vinegar a good product to use to kill the roots that are growing in my yard? Thank you.

According to university extension publications, vinegar does not work effectively as a weedkiller. You can try boiling water but it must be on the new shoots. Even herbicides are ineffective unless used on the early growing shoots.
