Can I use sand from the beach to mix with topsoil?

Just read advice for leveling a lawn. It is suggested that one should use a mix of topsoil and sand to fill in lower areas. As I live near a beach, I wanted to know if I can use beach sand for the mix.

No, it is not recommended to use beach sand because of its high salt content and the possibility that is contains harmful organisms.
