Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comI have unused calcium tablets (100 of them) and would like to use them on my vegetables which are seedlings at the moment. I am on a learning-curve using a new greenhouse tunnel to grow some vegetables, like lettuces, tomatoes, basil and parsley because of the very hot summers in Adelaide. I would look forward to your response.
Oh, yes, we are working with clay soil to which we have just added pulverized cow manure and soil amendment.
Thank you. Lori.

Calcium is important for all plants but the following are especially responsive: apples, broccoli, brussel srouts, cabbage, carrots, cauliflower, celery, cherries, citrus,
melons, grapes, legumes, lettuce, peppers, potatoes and tomatoes.
I would not add any calcium until you have done a soil test. Since you are amending clay soil with compost and other materials a soil test will help you determine what is missing or not from the soil mix.
