Q.Can I Transplant or Divide Sedum Plants While They Are Still Blooming

Zone 5 | Suzanny added on September 16, 2012 | Answered

I’ve transplanted/divided many sedums mid season, but I don’t think I’ve done so when in bloom. Is it best to cut off the bloom heads before transplanting, or can I just divide/transplant with the blooms on it?

You can still divide them (trimming the plant back), though it is normally better to wait until the blooming has ceased.
