Can I Till In Hemlock Bark Where I Plan To Plant Lawn In The Future?

My backyard is bare soil right now and I plan to plant lawn in the fall. In the meantime my grandkids need a place to play in the yard. Would it be OK to put down hemlock bark for them to play on, then till it into the soil to plant the lawn in the fall?

Yes you can but it composts slowly and will reduce the amount of available nitrogen in your soil as it breaks down. Here is more about hemlock bark:
