Q.Can I Take An Amaryllis Bulb Out Of The Ground Now And Bring It In To Repot And Keep Indoors?

I have an amaryllis that a friend gave me who passed away. I put it in the ground and it did not rebloom this spring, but it still has a couple of green shoots coming out of it. Another friend potted hers and keeps it sheltered until it blooms again and it is gorgeous. Should I move the plant now into a house pot and would it bloom in December or January? I live in NC. The photo I’m sending was a few weeks ago. We have had some cold weather since.

Go ahead and bring it inside in a container and put it in a dark closet for about 10 to 12 weeks to induce blooming. (If you want to keep it outside, it may take a couple seasons for it to bloom.) This is how to rebloom inside:
