Q.Can I Sow Common Violet Seeds Into My Clover Yard Seed Mix?
I’m hoping to create a low maintenance, nature supportive environment in my backyard. Unfortunately my backyard is on top of my septic field so deep planting or veggie gardens aren’t ideal. My yard is framed by tall popular trees and on the north side of my house. Do you think I could mix violet seeds into a mini-clover seed mix successfully or do you think they would be overtaken? If I could, should I sow them in the late fall or after the last frost? I think that’s still zone 7.

It is possible the violets would eventually overtake the clover. although clover can be aggressive, too. Here is information to help you decide:
