Can I safely prune new flower clusters from my Chisun palm ?

A lot of energy which I would rather see used to grow height seems to be expended on growing 5 or 6 new flower clusters each year. Am I mistaken to think pruning some of them might divert this energy to help the palm gain height? The palm is about 10 years old and the trunk is about 4’6″ with lots of healthy fronds. It’s in quite chalky quick draining soil which I regularly feed.
