Bougainvillea Plants

Q.Can I put 2 bougainvilleas in the same pot please?

Zone UK | Nigel.mary added on September 1, 2019 | Answered

Have 2 plants about 12” each, 1st year. They have had some breaks. Want to keep on the floor for the winter. What size pot for 2? It would be easier for me if they were to be in the same pot. If not, will have to choose somewhere else.

They will probably compete for nutrients and root space. It will be best to plant these in separate containers, unless you can manage to fit a 20 or 30 gallon container on your patio. They won't want to be transplanted too often, once established, so you will want to choose a large enough container to accommodate them to full maturity.

I would recommend potting them into separate containers.
