Q.Can I Prune My Lilac Bush In Late July

It depends. The best time for pruning lilac bushes is right after their flowering has ceased. This allows new shoots plenty of time to develop the flower buds for the next season (2024) of blooms. Pruning lilacs too late can kill young developing buds and result in no or fewer blooms in 2024.
