The front of my house faces west and has full sun most of the day. Will Impatiens do well in a garden facing west.

No, impatiens will require a shady spot. If you would like to have a variety that will take full sun, I would recommend sunpatiens. This article will help: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/flowers/impatiens/sunpatiens-in-garden-beds.htm
