Q.Can I Plant 2 Small (2ft) Japanese Maples In The Same Hole And Have Them Grow Together?

These are very small 3” potted bloodgood maples

Bloodgood maples grow from 15 to 20 feet and probably would not do well grown together. I suspect there would be a lot of branches crossing and touching.

Most Japanese maples are grafted so I am wondering if the 3 inch starts are grown from seed. If so, and the tree was grafted, you may get something different from 'Bloodgood.' Here is more on its care:
