Q.Can I grow indoor houseplants under a glass table

joannastuart3 added on October 9, 2015 | Answered

I have no more room in my garden window, but hate to part with my plants. I have a jade and another succulent on an end table with a florescent light on them and they are doing well. The end table has a large glass top. Would I be able to grow plants under the glass top on the bottom half of the end table? The light reflects directly down there. The plants that I’m thinking of putting there are another jade and a mini carissa. I would appreciate any advice. Thanks.

Yes, you can grow in such a location.

Remember glass is actually an insulator and will diffuse some of the light.
