Q.Can I Grow A Fig Tree By Planting A Fig That Was On The Ground At A Nursery?

I picked up 3 figs that had fallen from a fig tree and would like to know if I can plant them in the ground. Is this how fig trees are grown?

Likely, not. You would have to know if this fig had been pollinated, or if it is self fertile, or if it has been sprayed with chemicals to swell without seeds or not.

If you open the fig, and do find viable seeds, then you can make an attempt at growing the seeds that you do fine. From this, there is no guarantee that it will fruit at all, and if it does, it may not be palatable.
