Q.Can I Grow A Dwarf Dappled Willow Tree In A Pot Outdoors With No Roof In Zone 6b?
If so, it would be in full sun and I need to know the size pot as I am not familiar with tree roots. I just know I live in town and my yard us about 6″ deep soil and beneath that is all rock as I live in town. If this all works for it, what time if year to plant it is best? Is it low maintenance? And, do I need to cover it with a tree blanket for winter? Thank you.

Dappled willow is sold in tree or shrub form, so the shrub form would do better in a container. It is hardy to zone 4, so it should fare well in a zone 6 environment. To be on the safe side, I would wrap the pot well in winter with blankets or bubble wrap to give the roots extra protection. And mulch the inside of the container, but keep it several inches from the stem.
You can plant it in spring or fall.
