Can I cut back a Polka Dot plant and bring it indoor for the winter? Will it survive winter in zone 5 outdoors?

My plant is about a foot tall. I will bring it indoor if it will not survive zone 5 winters. But can I cut it way back to go into a pot if I have to bring it in?

I would just dig it up and put it in a pot with fresh potting soil. It won’t survive a zone 5 winter.
