Can bay be grown as a low hedge?

Hi there, I would really like to use lauris nobilis to make a low hedge to a height of around 60cm. I would prefer to use this species rather than compact laurel / prunus laurocerasus. Is it possible to maintain bay at this height? Many thanks, Sophie

Hi Sophie, There are compact varieties that can be cultivated to one or two meters height hedging, but 60 cm is very low for long term sustainability of Lauris nobilis. It really wants to be an 8 meter tree.
