Q.Can Apple And Plum Trees Be Coppiced Or Pollarded Successfully?
I have a few apple and plum trees which I need to reduce in size and rather than completely remove them I thought I may be able to coppice or pollard them instead?

Here is information on reducing the size of fruit trees. You can prune neglected apple trees heavily. Pollarding is not recommended for fruit trees. For misplaced trees, if pollarded, it should be started when the tree is young and must be kept up yearly.
