Q.Can a Yucca Get Too Much Sun?

Anonymous added on January 7, 2014 | Answered

Can a yucca get too much sun? I have a really nice yucca that is doing really well, but where it is really does get full hot sunshine and about 3 or 4 leaves look as if they have been burnt. Should I move it into shade apart from these few leaves it’s doing really well.

Actually, yucca plants thrive in full sun and will not do as well if moved into shade. A few brown leaves is really nothing to worry about and could be due to overwatering or poor drainage. These plants only need water when it's really dry, as they are drought tolerant plants. If you notice additional browning of the leaves (spreading to others), then it could be a fungus, in which case neem oil or other fungicide would help.
