gardenia plant got too dry

Can a gardenia plant that has gotten too dry and its leaves have died be revived? The stems are still green. Plant was accidentally not on a watering schedule over a vacation.

I always lean on the side of optimism when it comes to reviving plants on the brink of death. I would go ahead and water it (be careful not to over-water) as well as prune it back to where the wood is still pliable and green. Then wait and see…
