Q.Can A China Doll Live In A Terrarium?
I have been trying my best with a china doll for a couple of years. I love it!! In Calgary the conditions are usually dry to very dry or up and down depending on what minute it is!! To give it a more stable, humid environment I am wondering if I can include it in a terrarium? If not, do have any other suggestions? Thank you in advance…you guys are always so informative,

China doll does prefer humid conditions and it would be more humid in a terrarium. The only drawback is the plant will quickly outgrow the terrarium. They can get to 4 to 6 feet (1.2 to 1.8 m) tall indoors. You may want to try a pebble tray instead. Simply set the plant and its pot on a tray of pebbles. Add water to the tray, but not high enough that the pot can absorb the water (root rot alert!). The evaporating water will add humidity to the area around the plant. Another option is to add a humidifier to the room. Also, grouping houseplants together will raise the humidly around them.
Be sure your plant is in a room with a temp of 65 to 75 degrees (18 to 24 C), and it is not near any drafts. It needs bright, but indirect light.
