Q.Campanula Violet Teacups In Leggy And Flopping On Ground
Planted Violet Teacups early last summer; purchased from local nursery, each in 4″ pots. They formed nice round mounds, stems ~6 long, and bloomed beautifully entire summer. No fertilizer applied. In late fall, cut them down to about 3″. This year, the stems are ~10″ and have splayed onto the ground around the center. Flowering nicely, no fertilizer used. At first I thought an animal had bedded down on the plant, but there are a couple more in addition to the ones in the attached photos that are splayed. Thanks for any advice you have.

It is getting crowded and needs to be divided either in fall or spring. You can discard the center stems that are dying out. To reduce the legginess, shear the plant back a few inches.
In the spring as it starts coming back, sprinkle some 10-10-10 slow release fertilizer around it.
