Q.Camellia Leaf Problem

Anonymous added on April 2, 2014 | Answered

My camellia has developed a thin black crust on its leaves which looks like soot and is sticky. The leaves are now dropping. Blooms seem ok. Have you any idea what this could be and, if so, how do I treat it, please?

This is sooty mold. It is a byproduct of a pest infestation, likely aphids or scale. This article will help you with getting rid of it: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/flowers/camellia/sooty-mold-on-camellia.htm
