calla lilies

Question

When do you transplant calla lilies in the desert? I live in Palm Springs, California. My gardener cuts them down to the ground and divides them. I have a backyard full of calla lilies in the winter. I would like to know when is the best time. They are starting to turn yellow in the leaves.
