Callas turning yellow & blotches. Why?

Black plastic sheeting was put down for weed control. Can the plastic sheeting cook callas? Last year pretty. Year b4 gorgeous progressively gettin worse. Help!

Yellow leaves may indicate too much water or lack of nutrients.
