Calla Lilies in Colorado

I have read your tips regarding wintering calla lilies and appreciate the information. You talk about Calla lilies being ‘stunted’ without a lot of sun. Does this mean they don’t open all the way? It gets into the 80’s and 90’s in Colorado. Is this too hot for full sun? My Calla lilies bloomed this year (they had blooms when I bought them. . . deep salmon colored blooms) but the blooms stayed curled up, which I loved, but does that mean they are not getting enough sun? I don’t want to burn them up in our hot weather. Please advise!

If the climate is very hot and very sunny, you might consider planting the calla lily in light afternoon shade or you can provide some shade during the hottest part of the day with a shade cover. For those in pots, you can simply move them to an ideal location as needed.
