Calla Lily Flowers

I received a Calla Lily plant (Zantedescia species) as an Easter gift. I’ve kept it indoors as a house plant. Almost immediately two of the plant’s smallest leaves turned yellow. So after watering it thoroughly and immediately draining off excess water, I cut off the yellow leaves. Now two of the bright yellow flowers are wilted with yellowing stems that have turned downward. Should the older flowers that are dying back be cut off either at or close the the soil level in its pot?

Also, I can put the plant outside in the ground around May to avoid frost. Perhaps it does not like the sunny window with full afternoon sun in our house right now.
