Q.calla lilies
What is eating large chunks, like bites, out of my calla lily flowers? I see no evidence of slugs or snails on the tall stalks or leaves, just bites out of the flowers. I’m sure it’s not deer, and the flowers are too tall for squirrels which we have a lot of, but I’m stumped. The plant looks healthy, no slugs or snails on any of the green parts of the plant, just bites out of the flowers. What could be doing this?
thanks so much,
anne

Don't underestimate all of the pests that you mention.
If food supplies are low, critters will eat Calla Lillies or other flowers.
Slugs come in the night and leave little evidence.
Chipmunks or Squirrels will pull down the stems of the flowers. Rabbits also have been known to eat the flowers from Calla Lily plant.
Deer may be the least likely, since you may see more evidence of Deer in your garden.
I'm listing some articles that may help with deterring these pest.
