Calla Lily Gift

I was given a 1-gal. potted Calla Lily as a gift and in 1 week is has really taken off! Should I plant it in full-sun, partial, or full-shade? I understand I must keep it moist. Correct? Would fertilizer spikes placed in the soil be enough to fertilize? If so, how many, how often? Thanks!
