Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comIn the fall of 2016 I bought about 6 plants that were yet fully blooming. As winter was coming I looked up how to try to keep the bulbs. I was successful in doing so, I planted the bulbs in a large pot, and set them in the sun. I did not get one bloom from any bulb, lots of healthy leaves. This fall I considered dumping them, but heard maybe they only flower every other season. Is that so, or what did I do wrong?

This is, more than likely, an issue of having too much nitrogen in the soil. This will cause the plant to grow very well with leaves, but will prevent flowers from forming. You can add dolomitic lime and fertilizer with only phosphorus and potassium to counteract the high levels of nitrogen in the soil.
