Q.Calcium Carbonate For Tomato Plants

Zone Escondido, (San Diego) Ca. 92029 | Anonymous added on June 9, 2023 | Answered

Calcium Carbonate tablets for antacid is 4% calcium. If I grind them into a powder and dissolve into a gallon container of water, can I use this as a home remedy to enrich my tomato plants? I have bottles of the stuff un-used.

You probably don't need additional calcium in your soil. When there is a problem with blossom end rot, it is usually due to poor watering, preventing uptake of calcium in the soil.
