Q.Buttonbush Leaves Started Turning Reddish-brown
So, I just noticed my buttonbush has some leaves that are starting to turn reddish-brown, and I know it does this in the fall. This is my first year owning one and it is a relatively young plant. I live in NC, zone 7. Is this the time of year the leaves start changing or what is it? Just seems too early since fall doesn’t technically start till the end of the month.

It does seem too early to change colors. Most buttonbushes turn yellow but there is a cultivar whose leaves change to coppery bronze in fall.
This could be a nutrient problem. I would have the soil tested at the local cooperative extension office.
