Q.Butter Beans Not Blooming

Anonymous added on July 15, 2011 | Answered

I planted butter beans and pole beans in the same raised bed. The vines are huge and green, but alas, no blossoms. I side dressed with bone meal, and am wondering if there is a foliar spray that might work faster than the soil amendment to make the vines bloom.

This year's strange weather may be affecting your bean production or your plants may be getting too much nitrogen. Beans can sometimes take up to 60 days to produce. Hang in there!
