Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comHi, I live in a climate 10A zone. I am looking for best options of growing bush or shrubs in the front of my home (in front of windows). I am looking for 3 foot height growth (or so). My challenges: The front of my home faces directly north and is mostly shaded. I have tried Copper and Hawaiian Ti plants. Neither seem to take, and by the end of summer the leafs just fall off. Although I opened up the area (trimming 3 trees),there just not a lot of sun. Again, trying to “case” my windows with a shrub and it would be great if I could add a successful bush with color. As you can guess the Indian Hawtorns work well as do Blue Lilly Turf, but again, everything in front of my home is a solid green. Wish to keep this a low maintenance area. Any help or direction would be great. Thank you, RA Venice FL

There are some evergreens that grow in shade as well as deciduous shrubs such as azaleas. Here is more:
