Burning bush not changing color in the fall

The burning bush receives morning and afternoon sunlight. We have never used fertilizer on it. After first planting, the rabbits enjoyed the new treat. We placed a fence around the bush. It has never changed color, a pink if anything. Unsure of what to do. Thanks for your time.
