Q.Bugs in my palm trees

Zone 92804 | ChristineMc added on January 21, 2016 | Answered

I have these little black and red bugs that look like ladybugs on my palm trees. I don’t know what they are or how to get rid of them.

This may be the Palmetto Weevil or Red Palm Weevil from your description.
These pests are known to do great damage to Palms and even cause the death of the trees.
The larvae burrow into the heart of the Palm, eating it and thus killing the Palm.
Insect traps and insecticide sprays can be used on these insects, these will help kill the beetles before they lay their eggs.
You may want to contact a Palm Tree specialist to apply a treatment.
Here are some links for you that will have more information and images to help you with identification.
