Bottle Brush Trees

Q.Brush Plant –

Do I cut off the dry ends of the brush plant – they are about 15cms long, dry and dead but look like little empty nuts? Nobody else seems to be asking this question. I assume they are last years flowers but I get them every year and don’t know what to do with them. The bush is healthy and starting to flower. I live in France.
