Brunfelsia

Question

Why does my brunfelsia bloom only once in the spring? I understand it’s suppose to bloom more than that. Thank you.

I suspect that it is planted somewhere where it gets enough light to bloom in the spring but as the leaves on the overhead canopy grow, it becomes too shaded for them. While the are shade plants, they need some light to bloom. I would try thinning nearby trees a bit to let in a little more light.
