Q.Browning Philodendron Leaves

Zone 47906 | Tucker10 added on February 18, 2016 | Answered

I have a Philodendron that was growing well until about two months ago, and all of the leaves have gone from yellow to mostly brown and are falling off. It also has moss-like white stuff on top of the soil. It’s not a big plant, so I’m not sure if cutting it back would help or not. What can I do to save it?

There can be a few reasons for the loss of leaves.
It sounds like you may have surface mold on the soil top. This could be due to overwatering and lack of air flow.
If the plant has no green, healthy leaves left, I would remove this plant and replace it.
Here are some links to refresh you on the care requirements.
Philodendron is a great house plant and you can try again!
