Brown Spots on Hibiscus

Anonymous added on August 5, 2015 | Answered

What can I use to get rid of brown spots on the leaves of my outdoor hibiscus plant? I just bought it from a nursery but it was the last one in the burgundy color that I wanted. It already had the brown spots on the leaves when I bought it. Some of the leaves are also turning yellow then they fall off. Should I take the plant back? Thanks for your help!!!

It sounds like the plant may have a black spot fungus. Treat the plants with a fungicide. If the yellow leaves continue, this article will have other suggestions: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/flowers/hibiscus/answers-to-what-causes-hibiscus-leaves-turning-yellow.htm
