Brown patches in new backyard lawn

Hi, we recently bought a home with a newly laid grass lawn in the backyard. We have been diligently watering it. However, the lawn is starting to develop brown patches. Please advice on how to combat this.

It sounds like the lawn has a fungus. You can apply a fungus spray to the lawn.
