Part of my holly bush is brown. What should I do?

There are a few things that can cause this, with holly scorch being the most common. This usually happens when the weather changes too quickly. The plant will normally recover from this on its own. Additionally, if you’ve fertilized lately (especially if it’s been hot), this could lead to browning. It’s usually recommended that you fertilize holly bushes once a year (preferably in spring) with balanced fertilizer. If fertilizer is the issue, then flush the plant with water (hose down soil around them) to try and neutralize the damage. For either of these probable causes, you can trim out the brown foliage and it should regrow.

It could also be a fungus of some type or insect pests. I would treat the plant with neem oil. This will take care of both fungal problems and any pests that may be affecting your holly bush.
