Brown Leaves on Gardenia Bush

My gardenia plant leaves are turning brown. Is the night temerature too cold for it to live in Vermont? Night temps have been down to 45 F.

It sounds like the plants are either not getting enough water or they are not getting enough humidity, which would be the case if temps are beginning to fall. Make sure that you are keeping the soil moist and you may need to mist them daily.
