Bromeliad Plant

Question

I was given a dark orange Bromeliad plant about 3 weeks ago. It came with about 6 dark orange spikes. Are they going to open or do they stay the way they are?

There are many different types of Bromeliads. Without seeing an image, I can't say if the flower spike you have is mature.
