Q.Broken branch damaged bark

Zone Johannesburg, South Africa | Charmain added on December 3, 2017 | Answered

hi, please help. Someone had broken a branch off my Impala Lily (Adenium Multiflorum). But instead of making a clean cut it was pulled of and tore into the bark. I read you said that you must cut an oval shape around the damaged area so that it is a clean cut… will this apply to this succulent tree too? It is quite jagged and ugly. What should I do?

At this point, the best option would be to apply peroxide with a cotton ball or soft cloth. This will prevent any infection. Over time the wound will heal itself. Here is an article that will help: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/garden-how-to/soil-fertilizers/using-hydrogen-peroxide-in-garden.htm
