Brazilian Pepper Tree

Q.Brazilian or California Pepper Tree Regrowth Period

The tree trimmer absolutely butchered my pepper tree (I believe it is a Brazilian Pepper tree). It needed a good trim, but they removed practically every last leaf. How long with it take for it to start sprouting leaves again? I live in Long Beach, CA.

I'm sorry to hear about your unfortunate tree! However, Brazilian pepper tree is a very tough, hard-to-kill species which contributes to its reputation as an invasive. It should start growing again quickly, but I'm not sure exactly how soon. When it does re-grow, prune out any root suckers or watersprouts it may produce to maintain the shape of the tree:
