branches drying up on lavender plant in pot outside

Why are some branches drying up and appearing dead on my lavender plant? The plant is in a pot in full sun.

Lavender does prefer full sun, but care needs to make sure that the soil is moist but not soggy. The top inch or so should dry out slightly between waterings. Depending on the temperatures, wind, and type of pot, you may need to water twice a day.

Give the pot a bit more shade and check the moisture carefully.
